Handball Ulster Finals
What a day we had in Belfast at the Ulster Handball Finals! Our boys and girls gave it their all, representing our school and county with incredible skill, determination, and sportsmanship. We couldn’t be prouder of them!
A huge congratulations to Charlie Gallagher, who battled his way through the toughest of competition and is now the Ulster U11 Singles Champion! What an achievement!
In the U11 Doubles, Padraig Mullan and Aodhan Conway conquered all before them to become the Ulster U11 Doubles Champions - an incredible display of skill, teamwork and talent!
Our U13 competitors showed outstanding quality and determination. Charlie Duff represented us in the U13 Singles and was absolutely brilliant. He was just edged out of the runner-up spot on score difference, with the title going to Cavan and runners up Monaghan. A fantastic effort.
Shea Cullen and Daire Woods battled fiercely in the U13 Doubles, making it all the way to the final before being narrowly beaten by Cavan. They played superbly and gave the Cavan favourites a real scare.
Our girls were equally brilliant on the day. Kate Ayna and Cianna McElduff were exceptional in the U11 Doubles, reaching the final and just missing out to an impressive Cavan team. The future is bright for these two!
Aoibhínn McCrystal was outstanding in the U13 Singles, competing bravely against older, more powerful opponents from Cavan and Monaghan who won out in the end. A fantastic performance Aoibhínn.
Megan Conway and Cara Harte were superb in the U13 Doubles, showing great teamwork and skill, but were just edged out by the pace and power of the older Cavan and Monaghan teams as well.
A special mention to our fantastic subs Micheal Duddy, Ronan Mullin, and Eabha Rose McAleer, who were ready to step up at any moment. Their support and dedication were invaluable. They all had a brilliant day out.
A huge thank you to all our parents, club coaches, and supporters. The hard work behind the scenes is what makes days like this possible. Also, to our own Mr McCullagh for organising this years Cumann na mBunscoil handball competition within Tyrone.
And finally, we wish our U11 Boys the very best of luck as they now progress to the All-Ireland Finals in Croke Park on April 5th! What a prize for their hard work. We are incredibly proud of every one of our children. They were outstanding ambassadors for our school, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them. Well done, everyone!
